Patti met writer Jim Carroll (author of The Basketball Diaries) at a
poetry reading in spring 1970; And, for a brief time during that summer,
Carroll became a room-mate of Patti and Robert Mapplethorpe. Carroll
encouraged Patti in her writing and later on, wrote about her in a song
titled "Crow".
Jim Carroll's ex-wife, Rosemary Carroll, is now Patti's lawyer.
